Camellias and Clutter

“Celebrate Spring” - Cheryl Eichman

Camellias and Clutter

When lavish, light pink flowers

Dance in branches of my tree,

A wild primeval energy

Seems to stir inside of me.

A call for stores of clutter

To be exiled from my space,

A push to purge and throw away

Ways that don’t bring grace.

Camellias dazzle in the green—

I reach for cloths and brooms,

To clear away the dust of days

Let air into my rooms.

At night, I sleep in deeper peace,

When order comes inside,

A flower thriving in the spring,

No memories to hide.
